As vaccine mandates took effect in New York, the mass resignations some experts had predicted did not occur. But for 4% of NYC public school employees part of a sizable contingent across the U.S. resistance to the vaccines has won out over paychecks. https://nyti.ms/3EeHnA6

(9,998 posts)Does the author of this tripe have any idea how many states like FL, TX, AZ, GA, are fighting mandates, and how many rural communities across the country, even in Blue states, are ignoring them?
The bottom line is, we're NEVER going to be rid of this pandemic, because we'll be lucky as a nation to achieve above 70% vaccinated when all is said and done.
The mandates will help, but not enough, and there are too many pieces of shit who will NEVER get vaccinated.

(65,168 posts)Because the article isn't about eliminating the disease. If it were, you may be right.
But, the numbers are specifically stated in the article that show the # of resisters is diminishing.
One anecdotal example: Last April, the company from which I retired, did internal polling that showed: 61% were or planned to get vaxxed; 19% unsure; 20% said no, they wouldn't get vaxxed.
Mandate goes in place. As of October 15, 2 people in the United States, out of 1,100 workers retired or quit.
61% yes, 19% maybe, went to 99.91% vaxxed. Went from 440 resisters to 2.
That seems like vanishing to me.
