Former MSNBC host nails Condo RICE as "soldier for White Supremacy" over CRT

********QUOTE******

Political Podcaster — and Former MSNBC Host — Touré Calls Condoleezza Rice a ‘Soldier for White Supremacy’

.... “Her primary argument against Critical Race Theory is that history should not be taught in a way that makes white kids feel bad,” Neblett wrote in a Friday op-ed for The Grio. “What? We should whitewash U.S. history to protect the feelings of white children? Excuse me, I misspoke — we should whitewash U.S. history even more than we already do in order to protect the feelings of white children?” ....

Neblett, the 50-year-old former co-host of MSNBC’s The Cycle, took a divergent view of the issue.

“American history is a series of cycles where white people grow more powerful because of the legalized oppression of Black people,” he wrote. “American history is a series of stories where white people knock us down and stand on our necks and then ask why we’re on the ground. If we don’t know history we don’t understand reality and how it was constructed. I really don’t care if learning this makes white kids feel bad — and if it doesn’t then they are too heartless.

“I recall many days where I learned more about slavery or segregation or Jim Crow or lynchings, days in grade school or in college where I was a Black Studies major,” he added. “I often walked out of a classroom in a rage, thinking about the indignities visited upon my ancestors. But when I calmed down I realized those lessons had filled me with a sense of purpose — knowing what my people had gone through from slavery to the Civil Rights and Black Power movements made me feel like I had to do something valuable with my life in order to honor the fights and the sacrifices they had made.”

and you really gotta wonder about African-Americans who are Republicans.

Then she totally blew it on the 9/11 attacks. Then she's a freaking war criminal for lies about the Iraq war and her part in the torture program under Bush.

She is a BAD PERSON.

You know, the female equivalent of an Uncle Tom.

I saw her on The View last week, and it was about as bad as this makes it sound. In addition to the critical race theory thing, her comments about January 6 were a mess: https://decider.com/2021/10/20/condoleezza-rice-the-view-hosts-feuds/

Got renamed “Altair Voyager” after the press noticed the, ah, irony.

Think it’s since been scrapped.

Now, it’s accepted practice naming the CEOs direct to cabinet positions, like Sec State Rex Tillerson, Exxon flagged friend of Putin and Saud.

once getting caught in public almost doing so. "As I was telling my husb--." She had said that Bush agreed with whomever came to him first with policy ideas, so she had to be with him all the time to prevent this. So like he was her husband, but more like baby-sitting a small child.

I enjoyed Princess Sparkle Pony's blog about her, her hairstyles and shoes and so on.

make it seem like an imposition on white kids to feel bad. hmm.
does that phrasing imply that they try to make those kids feel bad, but they dont and dont want to? when they sure af should?
that's how it strikes me.

beginning to think empathy is a thing in critically short supply.
and it doesnt surprise me. seems to be the unspoken rule of education in america to kill it once and for all.

while too heartless means too heartless even for those already heartless white people?

The wording in the article just seems slightly off to me.

This article is a summation of a blog post, which is linked in the article (but is really easy to miss): https://thegrio.com/2021/10/22/condoleezza-rice-foot-solider-for-white-supremacy/

Here's the first paragraph of the blog post:

Condoleezza Rice’s recent appearance on The View was offensive and disgusting for many reasons but she was who we thought she was: a soldier for white supremacy. Her thoughts on Critical Race Theory are completely white centric, as in, they revolve around the thoughts and needs of white people.

He is criticizing her for putting the feelings of white people above all other aspects of this issue, saying, "Look at this Black woman who is more concerned about hurting white people's feelings than about teaching American history in an honest way! That's appalling!" The language he uses is very strong, harsh even, but as a white person, I'm not going to criticize the language that this Black man is using to express how he feels about issues that affect him personally in a way they will never affect me.

I don't think that he meant she belongs to white supremacist organizations, supports them with donations, or anything as literal as that. What he meant was that comments like the ones she made on The View have the effect of supporting white supremacy, whether that's what she meant to do or not.

In my opinion, she did not intend to do that, but she did it anyway, without knowing it, due to her own internalized racism. And i think it's really a damned shame that this highly educated and accomplished woman is so unaware of the impact of her own actions.

BUT I don't know if we need to try and make little kids feel guilty. I haven't seen any CRT teaching syllabus, but I'm hoping it's really about being honest that as a nation we have made mistakes.

IF we speak the truth, and realize that HISTORY is something we can learn FROM in order NOT to make the same mistakes, it has a different agenda then trying to elicit certain reactions.

When I learned about how the Indians were treated, how the slaves were treated, and ALSO how wonderful so many people of so many races there are throughout history, I really began to admire the core determination of all who stood up for equality and justice during times that were so harsh. I did feel bad for what had happened in the past, and wanted to see US be better in the present.

They say educators often have a "liberal agenda". Well if TELLING THE TRUTH is a "Liberal Agenda" then what is the opposite of that? Lies and coverups don't make America great in anyway shape or form.

We have a lot of crazy going on now that is trying to undo the progress that was beginning to happen. In many ways, there was a feeling prior to the B**h years that people were really supportive of real equality between races and for women.

With all the crap lately we are also learning more about how systemic racism has been. Even with the majority of people supportive of real equality, the small vocal minority screeching and putting their players in key positions of power to hamstring true progress (like the police force) these puny minded people won't let go and move into a real integrated and improved America where EVERYONE would be better off.

I still believe there have been more enlightened people in the mix who have helped keep us moving toward real equality and justice. However, when the extent of the problem is not known, it's like only seeing the tip of the iceberg. If anyone thinks, "Oh, that little thing", we will get clobbered and go down with the ship.

So the TRUTH is what we need.
