that's why he called Quayle...he whined that he was in a shit position...he wanted to please Trump but constitutionally he could not...in the end he didn't have the balls to obey the orange idiot and he paid the price...you can bet Trump would have loved to see Pence hanging from a rope

But I am not sure: Did Pence ask his advice?

Of course, compared to Whinny Donny, Bush Sr. was an honorable statesman.

And I can't believe I would have ever have posted this.

Who knew that Quayle would be a voice of Republicanism past? He was an idiot back when Bush felt sorry and picked this clown. I remember thinking. why would you pick a moron as your second....what if Bush died while in office?

Should HW ever be called to account for crimes committed during the Reagan Administration.

the electoral college doesn't need his approval of their votes.

i think if the constitution said something like "the vice president can throw out any state's electors if they feel they are corrupt", then drumpf would have pulled off his coup.

Somehow I cannot see Pence with much of legal knowledge, mostly following instructions.

Even after it was explained to them that Pence had no such power, they'd repeat the claim in later threads.

because that was an option be could have taken without being "part of the coup", but which would have delayed the proper process.

Tim Giebels, Pence's lead security agent, asked the vice president "twice" to evacuate the building, the book says. But Pence did not want to bow down to the rioters and flee the scene, according to the book.

"I'm not leaving the Capitol," he told Giebels, according to the book.
...
Pence refused to get in the car. "I trust you, Tim, but you're not driving the car," Pence told Giebels, the book says. "If I get in that vehicle, you guys are taking off. I'm not getting in the car."
...
"We need to get back tonight," Pence told top lawmakers and defense officials on a call, according to the book. "We can't let the world see that our process of confirming the next president can be delayed."

It's not that he was special in doing that (as the article says, Pelosi and McConnell wanted to finish that day too), but it was vital that he be there.
