13. There are areas of Brooklyn

that are highly Italian/Russian/Eastern European. Mill basin, Sheepshead Bay, Bensonhurst, Bay Ridge, etc. And a lot of cops, firemen, sanitation workers, etc. may live in those neighborhoods (or nearby Staten Island). The protest started in downtown BK and went over the bridge into Manhattan and City Hall. Doesn't mean all the marchers were from BK, either.

On the citizen App, there were more videos with a fair number of POC in them. LatinX and Black. Though the press photos and tv segments when the thousands are marching do look majority white.

14. I lived in Manhattan, but used to visit a friend in Crown Heights

I wasn’t the only white person on the sidewalk. But I was definitely outnumbered there, Which always makes me feel more comfortable. When I’m in a large crowd and it’s all white people I get very nervous

traditionally Caribbean/Black and Orthodox Jewish neighborhood. Though gentrification has had it's way with it and it's more diverse now. My uncle (Irish Catholic) grew up in Crown Heights over 80 years ago. Neighborhood demographics shift over time.

The crowd today being mostly white isn't a surprise when you realize it was mostly cops/firemen and sanitation workers... and the anti vaccine mandate peeps. I'm sure people came from Long island, Staten Island, etc.

There are pockets of people in many communities who are choosing not to get vaccinated. I know a few Black and Latinx people who don't want to for a variety of reasons. The Orthodox Jewish community has been slow to embrace vaccination. And of course, the construction work crew.

But I think the majority of the people who would march over it are the MAGAs.
