"I didn't get paid time off when my kid was born, so nobody else ever should, in perpetuity. Yeah, it would have been a godsend and an unalloyed positive for early childhood bonding, but we can't just pay people who aren't working! Yeah, yeah, raising a child is work, but nobody should get paid for it!"
