But I assume it is probably a combination of rat effing and singing like a canary.
Usual combination of sociopaths and cowards.

(6,679 posts)Until convictions and jail and barred from holding office happens it is meaningless.
I'm glad people are coming forward but I don't have a whole lot of faith anything serious will come of it. In my lifetime, it just doesn't happen at that level unless the party the bad actors belong to push for it. In this case the entire GOP is behind it and supports more of it and worse.

(35,669 posts)Just say "to me" and don't attempt to tell others that what they think is meaningless.
Example: "...barred from holding office happens it is meaningless, at least to me."
When you place a value judgement on how others think, it comes off as thinking that you are a smarter, better thinker than others. This is just my impression. It may not affect others the same way.

(9,760 posts)internet furums are sharing their own impressions and opinions, and, unless they say so, are not judging or pronouncing themselves smarter, better thinkers than others who hold different opinions. And so, maybe don't give them targeted advice on how not to be a jerk.

That said, when I start seeing some real consequences beyond wrist slaps and token fines that it is all pretty meaningless.

The committee has requested documents and communications related to Eastmans legal advice and analysis on how President Donald Trump could seek to overturn the election results and remain in office.
Eastman told The Washington Post last week that he had not been contacted by the panel investigating the insurrection, but a person familiar with the select committees work disputed that claim and said investigators have been in touch with Eastman. This person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations, added that a subpoena would be avoidable if Eastman cooperated with the committees investigation voluntarily. The committee is expected to issue subpoenas to other witnesses in the days ahead.
