I really hate the media

One would have thought that after the Trump presidency (one in which they had a role in making with the non stop coverage of him during the Republican primary) that the media would have learned their lesson on the way they cover politics…All his lies and bad behavior, the big lie, the insurrection hasn’t taught them anything. They still cover politics as if it is a sport, who is winning and who is losing, bothsiderism, they treat Republicans as if they have legit arguments…the media has a big role on the way our politics are shaped, they are going to be part of the reason that republicans take over in 2023.

Really so many of our ills in the last 30 years can all be traced back to Fox News in some way. They are literally the reason why we can't have nice things.

7. As I understand the evolution of our current media there was a time

that the "News" divisions of papers/print and broadcasters over the air was pretty separate from the "Entertainment" divisions. One was not supposed to be talking to the other.

This evolved over the last half-century with the "Firewall" between these groups being chipped away ( legislatively and financially) until eventually the entire media organizations were blended together. The News feed the Entertainment side and the Entertainment side feed the News side (not only in driving what was "important" but how to "sell it&quot .

Hence News became Entertainment and our Entertainment became our News. Substance, critical analysis, and pertinence vanished.

The only way to really understand all this "Media" for what is really important is to be super discerning whenever there is this conflict of interest in the Media you watch and to seek out news sources that are not tied to entertainment, but also to be super discriminating as the sources of those News sources only funding. Funding from dubious places, including advertisers, must be known.
