Reminding people how rude trumpists are

We need the people on the edge, the flawed but good souls who can be reached, to understand and appreciate that rude, mean spirited people will end up in charge of a lot of things that affect our freedom if the trumpists succeed in gaining and manipulating the power of government to turn against their enemies.

Sorry, but yes, politics IS a popularity contest, not a contest of honor and ability.

I cringe when I hear someone say—especially after they’ve done something wildly unpopular—“politics isn’t a popularity contest”.

In a democracy it very much is. People vote for who they like, that’s the whole point of democratic governments.

This is nothing new. FDR had his haters! He welcomed their hate! That was in the 1930’s and 40’s he welcomed their hate and was voted in 4 times. They hate Biden just as much, Obama. Biden just arrived at the G20! All smiles.

And with the Pope!

The entire movement, now and in the past, is a moral malignancy.

We are now longer engaged in differences in plans, desires or knowledge of facts.

The conservative-religious-authoritarian-trumPet movement can not be turned from its trajectory by argument.

It can only be sunk by a consistent, continued critique of its moral-ethical emptiness.

It is not simply that their facts are wrong. They are BAD people, stuck in kindergarten-bully BS (black souls).

The culture and values of America must evolve. Legislation alone will NEVER fix the root cause. At best, WHEN IT WORKS, laws and regulation are dissuasive to some degree. But the massive size of our legal system is proof that it is not the answer when the underlying culture is so sick.
