Southwest pilot signs off his comments to passengers with, "Let's Go Brandon."

"On Friday morning on a Southwest flight from Houston to Albuquerque, the pilot signed off his greeting over the public address system with the phrase, to audible gasps from some passengers."

How ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ became code for insulting Joe Biden

WASHINGTON (AP) — When Republican Rep. Bill Posey of Florida ended an Oct. 21 House floor speech with a fist pump and the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon!” it may have seemed cryptic and weird to many who were listening. But the phrase was already growing in right-wing circles, and now the seemingly upbeat sentiment -- actually a stand-in for swearing at Joe Biden -- is everywhere.

South Carolina Republican Jeff Duncan wore a “Let’s Go Brandon” face mask at the Capitol last week. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz posed with a “Let’s Go Brandon” sign at the World Series. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s press secretary retweeted a photo of the phrase on a construction sign in Virginia.

The line has become conservative code for something far more vulgar: “F—- Joe Biden.” It’s all the rage among Republicans wanting to prove their conservative credentials, a not-so-secret handshake that signals they’re in sync with the party’s base.

Americans are accustomed to their leaders being publicly jeered, and former President Donald Trump’s often-coarse language seemed to expand the boundaries of what counts as normal political speech.

But how did Republicans settle on the Brandon phrase as a G-rated substitute for its more vulgar three-word cousin?

Biden should just find a way to say Let's Go Brandon. The Right will explode with incancescent rage that Biden hinted at the F-word, even about himself, and it'll be dead. Remember when Obama reclaimed Thanks Obama?

Given that, as hard as Southwest is lobbying to get the vaccine requirement overturned they might condone this behavior.

I never flew Southwest before, and now it’s definitely on my do-not-use list.

The PA system on an airliner is not there to make political commentary in the workplace. Especially to a captive audience.
FAA regs even say the plane can't take off if it's not working. It's safety equipment, not a toy.

poetic about politics. STFU and get me to my destination safely. This is why people are getting violent on planes. The MAGA crowd seems to think everyone is interested in their unsolicited opinions about "freedoms." The problem is they don't care about anyone else's. If I could afford it I would never fly commercial again. It's too bad our rail system largely sucks.

Force him to psychologically test. God forbid an accident occurs with a professional pilot, who has such a need to act so immature, to crash with people inside. I’m a former Air Traffic Controller, and we would never act this stupid.

When you hear someone say it, just say wow I didn't know you support Joe Biden. Tell them that you know that Brandon means Biden and that "let's go" is obvious a sign of support! They'll have a devil of a time explaining how it's really negative. Just shake your head as they try to explain and say "come on, 'let's go' sure sounds positive to me". Just nod and say it's great if you support him, that you do too!

Appropriating terms is what right-wingers usually do, trying to turn the words "woke" or "liberal" into negative meanings, so it's only fair play to play the same game.

And doesn't this pilot realize that those who start fights over masks are usually trumpees?
