Halloween Is Back On This Year: 'We Are Going All Out'

At least for Alexandria, Virginia, I can verify this. I've been seeing a boatload of decorations this year.

Halloween trick-or-treating, classroom celebrations and town costume parades are making a comeback after Covid-19 concerns forced many festivities to shut down last year. “This year we are going all out,” says one mom.

....Halloween in this house, and we've yet to have a single person come to the door. It's a waste getting candy and then wind up eating it all ourselves. It's not even necessary to black out the house but we do it anyway.

We live on a moderately busy road with no sidewalk or street lights on our side, so the children have to walk in the street from house to house.

The other side of the road has a sidewalk and street lights, and across from us is a neighborhood that has zero traffic so they avoid our side altogether.

Only 6,000 people died from it yesterday.

I get the gist, we're at about 7,000 on average per week, but why lie so badly?

According to the Worldometer, 6,000 people died worldwide yesterday.

You seem to be happy that Americans are only losing an average of bout 7,000 people a week. I find that number abhorrent. Of course, most of the people who are dying aren't taking the disease seriously, and aren't taking proper precautions...

Enjoy your party.

Hubby mounted 2 box fans for air movement out of the maze. We were going to do zombies, but it morphed into mild Cthulhu. We also are giving each kid a pair of chromadepth glasses since we’re using black light paintings and have a teeter board pond (with railing) they have to cross. We found it you use black light dye and fluorescent confetti in the water, it looks like it’s much deeper than 2”. Our “loot” bags will contain a piece of chocolate, a mini Rice Krispie treat, a small bag of Tropicana gummies, and 2 fidgets - zip bracelet and a popper fidget. Having loot bags on the table mans they don’t go digging around in candy bowls looking for their favorite flavor/color.

I have candy if the little ghouls and goblins show up this year.

My yard is fenced so I sit outside and pass the candy over the gate. I’ve always enjoyed Halloween.

Not as decorative as in the past but there are decorations and a big bowl full of chocolate bars. My daughter was invited to a closed costume party at a local pub but has decided to stay home and pass out candy, full costume with her face mask.

We're putting the pumpkin out at 4pm Central time in case anyone wants to come by. With Halloween on a Sunday we won't be competing with the city activities or church parties. We expect a few trick or treaters this year, especially since seeing a few families move into the neighborhood.
