Several buyers.
No need to stay with the kids in Canada.
The open road the RV will be home.
The last holiday season in the house.
Just seems like yesterday I bought the house.
Would like to have Christmas with the kids in Canada.
If we do not travel now we never will.
My house mate is getting well now.
So off we go.
One more Halloween, birthday, and Thanksgiving here.

(2,962 posts)The road is calling.
Still a little sad also.
But life goes on.
First we will head west and then do the Route 66 trip from California.
Then hopefully Canada.

(16,337 posts)we'll still live where we are and work as much as we want. We do plan on taking longer trips...a month here, a month there, etc. Really get to know places. Best of luck to you...

(2,962 posts)More life behind you then in front.
Still healthy and strong but not forever.
I spent to much time at the nursing home with my mother.
Not me.
Now is the time.
We were going do this when the virus it.
Just waiting for me to retire.
Got our booster shots and masks.
Now to clean out the house.
Say goodbye to neighbors.
Been in that house a long time.

(8,729 posts)Wish you many great adventures. Armenian Gypsies have a national flag. Singer songwriter Todd Snyder flys it at his shows and puts it on his CDs (remember those) it represents land and sky with spikes showing every direction is open with no permanent residence. They believe man does not own any place and the world is open and intended to daily adventures. I fly one here and nobody knows what it means. Especially the repubs here. Just let em winder. Happy trails. I may take the leap, if North Carolina continued its path of destruction. Best wishes to you. Send pix to DUers.

(2,962 posts)Still have land here in the hill country.
It is being leased out for cattle and hay.
Like to leave it for the kids if things turn around and the kids might want to come back when they are adults.
Still thinking about it.

(2,962 posts)It is a deluxe model.
A friend's aunt and uncle owned it.
Not many miles on it.
The uncle died and the aunt sold it.
It is nice inside.
Best money we ever spent.

We have a little camper and just got back from a 10 day road trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it - yes, wandering.
Thinking about one of those smaller (Viking?) cruises in Norway next year. You are inspiring me!
Lucky, lucky you!!

(31,384 posts)I have a photographer friend who, with her husband, sold their house in New Hampshire several years ago and took up the RV life. They winter in AZ. Tried Colorado in the fall this year but couldn't adjust to the altitude. When summer comes, they head back to New Hampshire to see family. They even added a dog a year ago.

(1,850 posts)I meet many folks who travel in RVs or 5th wheel, here in NC, some we look forward to seeing each year as they make their circuit.
Some come for the summer, some for the winter or part of fall and spring on their way to Florida or heading back north or west. Overall they seem to enjoy the lifestyle. Some are traveling with the thought they might find a new place to settle in, eventually.
I have a question I never thought to ask: where will you maintain your legal residence for voting purposes? Do you get a PO box? Texas, and NC too, needs all the blue voters we can get.

(2,962 posts)I have land in the hill country.
It is being leased except for 20 acres.
In normal times that would be our base.
I bought the land when I was a kid.
I bought it cheap in the 70's, it is worth a lot now.
