So close that some in the media were predicting it would be days, maybe even weeks before we knew the outcome.

It was called in under an hour after the polls closed.

The CA polls were close in late July and early August. That's when everyone (including myself) sounded the alarm.

Then Larry Elder became the GOP standard bearer and started talking.

That was the end of it. Polls leading up to the recall showed Newsom handily winning. The polls showed it wasn't even close.

Newsom pulled way ahead in the polling nearly two weeks before the election and was up by double digits with a week to go. No one who knew anything thought it was going to unresolved.

The Virginia Senate is not-- the next election for that is 2023.

Not sure what the forecasts say about the results.
