Seriously I would have preferred to win that one but we beat back a challenge for the New Jersey governorship and won many other places.
I think we need to take this election as a warning but we should not throw up our hands in disgust and give up.
If many of us did our jobs as poorly as the main stream media often does we'd be fired.

(4,104 posts)I monitored DU and soon enough the writing was on the wall. I cant face listening to the same postmortems Democrats in Disarray by the same bunch of media gasbags who have an overinflated idea of their own importance and expertise.

(115,748 posts)for the whole Democratic party all across the country. It's one state, and to quote a cliché, all politics is local. What motivated voters in Virginia might not motivate voters in California or Minnesota or New Mexico. There were many Democratic successes in other states; why are we wailing and rending our garments over one loss in Virginia?
