too nice to be the Head of the DNC. He is not the guy to take on these lying SOB's. We need someone as ruthless as they are. Someone who knows every dirty trick in the book and is willing to use it. I don't think that's him. How I miss Howard Dean!!

(35,454 posts)who was mad that Dean was spending his money on the 50 state strategy that eventually got PBO elected rather than giving it to Rahm to hand out to more conservatives. THe treatment of Dr. Dean, here's your hat what's your hurry, was an embarrassment and a sad surprise.

If you are blaming him for Virginia loss then that's missing or refusing to see why we lost .
The DNC chair isn't there to provide entertainment on cable news tv.

He does have a 50 state strategy and has targeted 22 of the most vulnerable gqp in the midterms. He follows Stacy Abrams closely

I havent been following it that closely and its good to know we are continuing to push hard for 2022. And using the Abrams playbook is fabulous.

(115,869 posts)and Harrison has done a very good job of that. The loss in VA isn't on Harrison; it's on the McAuliffe campaign.

(7,754 posts)I don't know how many times I listened to Howard come out swinging for the Dems. He was a straight shooter and he wasn't afraid to take the GOP on and call them out for their lies and for the hypocrites they are. He was really tough. Who's doing that now? All the polls I've seen recently have said that a full 2/3 of the people polled had no idea what is in the infrastructure bill or the BBB. They have no idea what's in it for them. Why is that. Who is supposed to be making sure that the message gets out there? Whoever it is, they need to step up or step down.
Seems we Dems speak in rational paragraphs and the GQP speak in soundbites and the soundbites are winning. Don't we have anyone in our party who can come up with winning sound bites? Don't we have anyone who can find a succinct way to tell the American people what's in it for them? I'm feeling very disheartened by what happened in Virginia. True, I never thought Terry was a great candidate, but we should have eked out a win against a skunk like Youngkin.

(18,130 posts)I take that to mean they are able to buy national ads promoting our beliefs, what we want to achieve, and how our policies will impact the general public.
While not directing or managing individual campaigns, the DNC should certainly be responsible for Democratic messaging and pointing out to voters why the should vote for Democratic candidates.
