(2,343 posts)sports is more important than anything. It's gross. Remember the Georgia guy who called in to the sports radio show and started crying because the University of Georgia lost a football game? This is a grown man, mind you. This country is full of people who like to keep themselves stupid by not paying attention to the reality of our situation. Watching sports is fine, but keep it in perspective.

(9,116 posts)The Rodgers thing isn't about football. It's about the virus.
Meanwhile, everyone already knows who TFG is. If by now one is not thoroughly convinced the man is criminal fuckstick, there ain't nothing in the world that'll change their mind.

(28,836 posts)Everyone expects Trump to lie. It's all he does. He does it so much it's just accepted now. It was accepted in 2016.
Rodgers seems (seemed?) like a somewhat reasonable human being. His exposure as just another Covid conspiracy theorist and a self-centered jerk (though, we knew that part already) was a bit of a surprise to many.

(130,614 posts)(could be any kind of celebrity, not necessarily a sports figure) who thinks he's too important and famous to do the responsible thing and get his sorry ass vaccinated so as not to spread the virus to his teammates and others he associates with on account of his status. And he uses his celebrity to spread lies about treatments and cures - false information he got from the likes of Joe Rogan.

(2,409 posts)blah blah blah up the endless news loop. The week before it was another fugging media diversion.
Next week it will be some other meaningless media orgasm.
They never take on the Republican treason against America--not seriously.
Corporate media is no friend of the truth or of democracy.

The less we hear about TFG the better for our collective mental health.
