Kristina and Galip Ozturk have had 21 biological children in 19 months using surrogates.
They join Kristina's 6-year-old and Galip's nine older children. Sixteen nannies help the family.
Experts say that if the family dynamic is healthy, raising this many children could be OK.
Kristina and Galip Ozturk have a big family. In the past 19 months, the couple, who live in the country Georgia, have used surrogates to welcome 21 biological children into their family.
"I can tell you one thing - my days are never boring," Kristina recently told The Sun.
The Ozturks' youngest baby is 3 months, and their oldest is 19 months. In addition to the babies, the couple live with Kristina's 6-year-old from a previous relationship and one of Galip's nine older children.
To provide that environment, the Ozturks rely on 16 live-in nannies and a variety of personal chefs, cleaners, and assistants, Kristina said on Instagram, adding that the nannies were not assigned specific children but rotated.

Detailing the finances of the situation, Galip and Kristina noted that they paid each surrogate £7,700 per pregnancy and their nannies were paid £350 a month each.
The nannies work four days on, two days off and live in the couples three story mansion where they have their own rooms and kitchen.

Kristina said: "It costs about $5,000-$6,000 (£3,500-£4,200) per week for essentials for all the kids. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a bit less.

The babies are: Mustafa, 14 months; Mariam, 13 months; Ayrin, 13 months; Alisa, 13 months; Hasan, one; Judi, one; Harper, 11 months; Teresa, 11 months; Huseyin, 11 months; Anna, 10 months; Isabella, 10 months; Ismail, nine months; Mehmet, nine months; Ahmet, nine months; Ali, eight months; Kristina, eight months; Sara, seven months; Lokman, seven months; Galip, six months; and Olivia, four months.

(30,613 posts)They should be institutionalized and their kids placed in adoptive homes.
This is just evil. How did they get away with it?

(58,785 posts)I'd hold off and wait to see how they feel about it.
In spite of the father's past, at this point it's irregular, can't agree with evil. Now, tearing them apart, institutionalizing, possibly never to see their parents or any of their brothers and sisters again...
Must be cuter than 5 baskets of puppies when they're playing.

(30,613 posts)I don't get that...? It's not the same thing as saving 21 lives; it's adding 21 new people to an overcrowded home and overcrowded planet. Those kids will essentially be raised like they're in an orphanage; no possibility of significant parental attention. If they are lucky, the hired help will be efficient. If they're less lucky, it won't be pretty.
Holding off for some long period of years will completely miss the brief window of time when they develop the capacity to bond with other human beings. It's not possible to recover from that kind of neglect.

This couple is too rich and spending their money foolishly.

(2,343 posts)Having that many kids should be illegal. I don't know at what number you could cut it off, but 21? Sounds a bit much.

I guess I missed that part after being violently ill over the 21 kids.

(47,358 posts)Not sure why msn article focused on how having that many kids could be just fine if family dynamic is healthy rather than on this little factoid.
"Their Instagram photos might present the idea of a picture-perfect life, however, there is more than meets the eye. Galip Ozturk is in fact a fugitive Turkish magnate who is wanted in his country for soliciting murder. He used his money and connections to escape a life sentence in Turkey and is currently settled in Georgia. He met his present wife, Kristina, a year ago in Georgia when she was only 23 years old. Galip and Kristina Ozturk are now being featured in global news for their extraordinarily 'large' family."

(8,162 posts)So now there's intrigue about being Most a Most Wanted Man by officials in Turkey.
Is this family Muslim? Or rather, is their a religious component behind the charge? Political?
I feel like the intention is to increase population for purposes yet to be made apparent or figured out.
Not just about having a houseful of kids.

I can't imagine going through the roll call when you want a specific child, and you name off severa before you get to the one you mean.

(8,162 posts)spawned. This just can't be about a "crazy" couple wanting a house full of kids.
Wouldn't surprise me to learn, pending further investigation, that this is in some way, government sponsored. it would be interesting to know more about the genetic, and/or religious factors in this particular case.
If Georgia is as concerned as Moscow (Putin) is regarding a severe drop in population because of national security concerns, sponsoring this sort of thing would offset that problem considerably in a few years. Consider how many children these children would have in 20 years.
Wonder how many others could be doing the same thing under international radar?
baby farms for future armies and/or other purposes.
sci-fi spooky, but not that unrealistic all things considering.
