Romney: Bain was just like Obama's auto bailouts

This is really choice double-talk. What Bain Capital did wasn't evil, it was was the same as what Obama did... which I said was evil... hey, I'm running for office for Pete's sake!

Romney and the Bailout

Romney: “In the general election, I’ll be pointing out that the president took the reins of General Motors and Chrysler, closed factories, closed dealerships, laid off thousands and thousands of workers. He did it to try to save the business,” Romney said on “CBS This Morning.” “We … had, on occasion, to do things that are tough to try to save a business.”

The first thought is, didn’t Romney write an op-ed titled Let Detroit Go Bankrupt? Yes, he did. But the title was misleading. What he actually called for was a “managed bankruptcy”, with government support — not too different from what actually happened.

So can Romney claim that he was for this successful policy all along? No, he can’t — because when the actual policy was proposed, he trashed it:

"What is proposed is even worse than bankruptcy–it would make GM the living dead."

In fact, this whole crop of candidates are pathetic. Unbelievably, deeply disturbingly pathetic. Ok, maybe not Huntsman but I don't really consider him to be a serious candidate, this time around. He's just dipping his toe, so to speak.

that what Mittens did at Bain is the same at the auto bailout. Ed is not up on his knowledge much at all. He allowed this idiot to continue on. The idiot prefaced his nonsense by telling Ed that he hasn't made up his mind who he'll be voting for. I smelled bullshit! He continued to defend Mitt Romney throughout the conversation.

It is pathetic!!

You are not going to talk your way out of what you did at Bain Capital. We're on to you.

and it's surrogates, the media's next question should be "how much did Obama personally pocket from GM and how much did Romney pocket from Bain?" Of course, they won't ask that obvious question, just because I guess.
