Dislike mandates? Work in Tennessee, governor says

In a video shared on Wednesday afternoon, Governor Bill Lee made a pitch to law enforcement officers from the west and east coast to apply with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The call is made specifically toward qualified law enforcement who are leaving states with restrictive mandates, according to a news release.

He calls out to officers in New York and deputies in Los Angeles to apply at THP in order to live in a state with a low cost of living and no income tax. But that wasn’t all, he said, “There are many highly skilled law enforcement personnel who want to work in a state that doesn’t get in the middle of personal health decisions yet also provides for a wonderful quality of life.”

Lee added, “In Tennessee, you’ll be given our full support and respect, and I’ll work to make sure your freedoms are protected.” To accompany the efforts that have been upped to get more troopers on the road, and he says assistance with relocation expenses will also be offered.

To go along with relocation expenses, THP is also offering other things like a full benefits package, self-issued vehicles, complimentary uniforms and equipment and all training academy fees will be paid for by the department.

I hate the fact that Tennessee is a red state. I love Tennessee. It's one of my favorite Southern states. I love the landscape. I love the Tennessee accent (Which, IMO, is one of the sexiest Southern accents), I love the food.

I just hate all the blockheaded right-wingers who pollute a state that deserves better.

and most of my grandkids, and my great-granddaughter, all live in Tennessee. I used to, until I left my late ex. I retain a lot of affection for the state. So I hate to see Billy Bob and his illiterate cronies flushing it down the drain this way. I'd much rather have good ole boy Ned Ray back. Hell, I'd even rather have Ray Blanton, and that guy was so fcukin' crooked they had to screw in into the ground when he died! That's how bad it's gotten. My family does their best for the resistance, but they can't do it all.....

But nobody is enforcing it around here.

I think that I am going to start smoking in the stores. When confronted, I plan to go full Karen about them picking and choosing which state mandates to enforce and how they are denying my freedom to smoke where I want.

Then they'll argue back about second-hand smoke... and I'll respond with the news that other customers covid-clouds are far more deadlier, far faster.

I won't win the argument, of course, but maybe, just maybe, it will get some of these asshat idiots to think, just a little bit.
