Where does one get a covid quick test for home use?

I’m congested today. Probably allergies because I’m fully vaccinated with a booster. Vaccines aren’t 100%, so this would seem to be the time for a covid quick test. Calls to local pharmacies just get me offers of a test at their drive through with two-day results. One wanted a doctor’s prescription. I checked out Amazon and came up with test kits that were either poorly rated, required an app, or were exorbitantly priced. In any case, an Amazon order wouldn’t arrive today.

In the UK, all you do is request them from the NHS and 7 tests (last I checked) show up by post the next day. I have no idea why this country can't seem to get it together and do this.

That way I have them through the winter here, which I suspect will be a bad one.

Our library here (central Ohio) gives out free test kits. I think the ones I got are Abbott Binax. Maybe check with your local health department or city hall to see if there are free home test kits available in your area. If not, try online at Walgreen or CVS. They were selling them when I was trying to find at home tests. Good luck!

I've had to buy a couple of these and found out the hard the first time that if you don't do that, it might not still be in stock when you get there.

Walgreens and CVS have decent websites that you can see which local store has them in stock and can have it pulled and waiting for you in 20-30 minutes.

I got the QuickVu brand. It was really easy to use.
Showed I did not have covid, must have just been allergies.

I got one at CVS a couple of months and the results came back in about 24 hours.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hassle.
Home test kits should be readily available even when there is a community uptick in cases.

I had some symptoms and thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
I was also going to be seeing some family members and didn't want to possibly infect them.

You are doing the right thing.

The home test said I was negative for Covid and it was a relief.

they do sell out at times. You can check for availability on their websites for the BinaxNow covid test. They run between $22 and $25 dollars and there are 2 tests in each box.

We have used them several times. Our son has breakthrough Covid right now and first detected it with a BinaxNow test. He went straight to his doc in the a.m. and got another test, and then the 4 shot monoclonal antibodies in the afternoon. That was Monday, he was already feeling better yesterday (Thursday), but not totally well.

He had not had his booster yet. He was scheduled to get it, and got sick. I have not heard of anyone getting Covid after their booster so I'm curious to know if you actually are positive. Could you let us know?
