Why do GOP leaders keep complaining about fentanyl seizures?

This makes me sense. Taking drugs off the market is a good thing

Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee, published a tweet this morning, alerting the public to some developments along the U.S./Mexico border:
"899 lbs of fentanyl and 15,631 lbs of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in October alone. That much fentanyl is the equivalent of 204 MILLION lethal doses. We need border security!"

Of course, part of the problem is that the third sentence doesn't quite match the first: If all of these illegal drugs were seized at the border, then we clearly already have quite a bit of border security.

But circling back to our earlier coverage, what's especially odd about this is how often Republicans push this message, seemingly indifferent to its implications.

In July, for example, Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona complained via Twitter, "Under Joe Biden, enough fentanyl to kill 238 million Americans was seized at the southern border last month. Where's the outrage in the media?"

and that borders need to be fortified to somehow stop this.

which is absurd given the volume of cargo moved across the border each day and the impossibility of closely inspecting even a small fraction of that river of goods.

But I have as much proof of it as Trump has that 2020 was stolen.

I think the R's have an alliance with organized crime. (And not just the Wall Street "banksters&quot . Note that after FARC was neutralized in Colombia, the US military pulled out and didn't do anything about the right-wing paramilitaries that were running drugs and manufacturing cocaine. Who do you think is organizing the migrant caravans? The migrants are being lied to and charges by the coyotes. The coyotes get paid regardless if someone tells Faux News where thry are coming from.

Which is understandable, because the members of their cult fall for this kind of crap all the time. And, as The Magistrate pointed out, these drug busts cut into one of their sources of revenue.
