Interesting post from a guy stuck in the Ozarks, on owning the libs.

His (xenophon) post on Reddit, and the responses to it will open some eyes. I hope.

"You all don't get it. I live in Trump country, in the Ozarks in southern Missouri, one of the last places where the KKK still has a relatively strong established presence. They don't give a shit what he does. He's just something to rally around and hate liberals, that's it, period. He absolutely realizes that and plays it up, they love it, he knows they love it, and the fact that people act like it's anything other than that just proves that liberals are idiots, all the more reason for high fives all around."

It’s more about THEM, than it is about HIM.

They use him, he uses them.

I've heard Trumpers say that they like him because he's funny and because he's so good at aggravating liberals. They're the ones who are idiots, though, not the liberals.

They don't see how they're giving their lives and otherwise being used to further the agenda of people like Putin and MBS. It isn't very smart to cause a lot of turmoil in the country you live in just so you can piss off your neighbors. Who benefits from this obnoxious behavior in the long run? Not them, not really. They're tearing down their own country, and the people who benefit the most from that are America's enemies.

Thirty five years ago while at a Dolphins game, my visiting father couldn't wait to get home. He wanted to tell everyone he was at the game and that he saw everyone doing the wave in person.

The point is his arms went up when the wave reached our section - he didn't realize that he was part of it.

I'm one of the many "idiot" liberals who frequently wonders why tRumpets contribute to support him. That Reddit post is an interesting take, but it only explains a subset of trumpers. It does NOT explain all trumpers, for example, the white evangelicals, neonazis, terrorists, etc.

This finally dawned on me when I was driving through rural Central California about 3 years ago. I saw a conservative with a bumper sticker that read "Trump 2020, make liberals cry again".

Support for Trump isn't about any particular set of government policies. Most of these folks live miserable lives and want the people they hate to suffer along with them.
