I've been seeing commercials in the NYC area about how terrible it would be to negotiate drug prices

Sounded weird to me so I finally did a look see. It seems big pharma is really worried about Medicare being able to negotiate the prices.

3. I just saw one with a woman speaking against the government being able to set...

drug prices. I immediately rewound it to see if there was a tag line on it. Sure enough it was big pharma industry group. I thought it was winger/republican group behind it, but they are about the same thing, both want to keep drug prices for Americans as high as possible...ten or twenty times higher than our neighbor Canada to the north.

All about how "gub'mint control" of drugs will mean you can't get the drugs you need.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine (also a senior who these ads claim to be so worried about) was just diagnosed with COPD and prescribed a medication. Sadly, the drug is not on her Part D formulary and she can't afford the several hundred dollars it would cost out of pocket.

Strange they never mention this all too common scenario in the ads.
