A third Trump golf course appears to have deployed the presidential seal as a tee marker, possibly in violation of a federal law.
On Nov. 21, an Instagram user posted a photo showing the presidential seal set in the grass at Floridas Trump National Golf Club Jupiter. The property joins Trump clubs in the Bronx and New Jersey in possible violation of a law that bars displaying the seal in a manner that could convey the impression of government approval or sponsorship. Its also illegal to manufacture a likeness of the seal without the governments authorization. The penalty can be up to six months in prison, although prosecutors have never prioritized charging people who misuse the seal.
The Trump Organization did not respond to requests for comment.

(32,727 posts)even after the American people rejected him twice. Move on, dump!
And ffs, can somebody, ANYBODY, finally hold his fat ass accountable for all the laws he continues to break?! LOCK HIM UP!

(19,204 posts)past the point where everyone before him has stopped, because they had a sense of honor and decorum. Those are foreign concepts to TFG, because his bottom line is all about enriching and glorifying himself. His narcissism knows no bounds, no rules, and no end.

(19,204 posts)He litigates everything to the point where everyone just gives up. That's been his m.o. since he was a tadpole in his daddy's sack.

(5,144 posts)However, with several cities as well as major businesses and (hopefully) the fed all going at once, he might find himself unable to sustain so many litigations. We can hope.

(19,204 posts)He has a small army of attorneys on retainer who litigate all the smaller cases. Most of the "little people" just give up.
For those who also have attorneys on retainer, he usually settles with. (Trump College, for instance).
The federal government is a different animal. They make Trump's attorneys look like neophytes.
Like you, it's my hope his attorneys (who always demand cash up front now) become such a financial burden, that he becomes the person who's under-prepared financially to continue litigation.
I want to see Trump hanging from a tree, twisting in the wind (metaphorically speaking, of course). What a wonderful sight that would be. 😊

(6,928 posts)People will say, why prosecute the three golf courses over something so small?
Thats both the question and answer in one.
1. Why did a single course crease by 300% to 3 courses without the first course facing consequences?
2. Why not prosecute a scofflaw like this?
The point, Trump is a criminal out in the open and expects to be treated differently. His protections are the jurisdictions where they wont hold a criminal accountable.

(14,061 posts)Is it scandal fatigue, a sense of resignation, or just not giving a shit anymore? With the attitude above, look for further breakdown of norms, but we will lose every right to bitch about it.
Ill join you:

(9,773 posts)Alright the post was insensitive Ill admit that.
TFG and his minions committed WORSE crimes than displaying a presidential seal inappropriately.
I said he started a revolt, not a word many use for 1/6 but it is usable as a descriptive word.
To start adding on little violations when the HUGE ones are seemingly not being addressed, in my mind I ask why? We dont need any more distractions from the insurrection.
Its like a huge jewel heist
millions of dollars worth of precious gems stolen
tapes, witnesses and other possible evidence presented. Then
oh yeah by the way they might get a speeding ticket too.

(22,045 posts)So Trump is using the Presidential Seal as markers for the teeing grounds?! Who could be surprised?
On one of the par-3s at the NYC course in the Bronx, there's a huge brass plaque set in the grass stating that on the inaugural round, Trump scored an ace. It's obnoxious and a complete fiction, I assumed, (I parred the hole). I played there only once before he was elected and vowed to never return until he was no longer associated with the course.
Several years later, I learned the truth. While playing at another course, I was paired with a fellow who was a grounds keeper at the Trump course. He told me that on the day Trump claimed his hole-in-one, they had cut multiple holes in the greens of the brand new, Jack Niklaus-designed course in order to learn how golf balls would roll due to the topography of the course. In other words, Trump had lots of holes to roll a ball into. So the plaque is yet another stupid lie.

(19,204 posts)Telling people he's "a self-made man" by starting out with a "small loan" from his father for $1 million. He never mentions the $400 + million he inherited either. Yeah, "self-made".
He's failed at every business decision he's undertaken except real estate. His real estate transactions were all brokered and negotiated by an army of attorneys, so it's not like his business acumen was responsible.
What kind of total Yutz bankrupts not one, but two casinos? Any member of the Great Ape family could have run those successfully. Not Trump though.
Trump Air. Trump Steaks. Trump College. Trump Wine. Trump Vodka etc. etc. etc. All failures.
Anyone dealing with Trump in any business transaction would be considered non compos mentis by any court of law. He's just that stupid, and that crooked.

(14,061 posts)Last I looked, he has NO rights to the use of the seal. Nobody does.
When will he be held to account? Is that too damn much to ask?
