Gingrich attacks on Bain were very convenient for the RW spewers

The RW nut-ocracy has a perennial problem. Every time there's a nominee to be chosen the "faithful" are obliged to stake out extreme positions, describing people like GHW Bush, Dole, McCain and Romney as bust-out communists.

Then they have to fall in line. They always do and always will.

Newt's anti-Bain tack was a god-send allowing these kooks to paint Romney as the champion of capitalism.

The thing is, they were going to have to find some weak-ass justification for the obligatory switch anyway.

If Newt has said nothing unkind whatsoever about Romney they would STILL have been trying to pretzel their way into Romney support this week.

This was gonna be the week. Newt just hadn't figured that out and was probably surprised when everyone dumped him for the "faux conservative."

I looked at Free Republic yesterday and several of them were praising Newt's documentary, these are people who would have previously never question vulture capitalism but all of a sudden they are taking the same position as Occupy. If this can even make Freepers take the position of Occupy it will certainly impact a lot of other people as well, Gingrich made criticism of vulture capitalism bipartisan and that will not only hurt Romney it will be very damaging to the Republican Party as a whole which has been defending this crap for years.

.. this whole issue is a total bluebird for Obama. In reality, the Dems haven't done much to stop this sort of activity either, but the Republicans positively embrace it.

Nobody cared until the economy collapsed and the middle and lower classes were left holding the bag. More and more people are looking at what Wall Street actually does and wondering just how in god's name any of this shit is good for America.

He laid into them, and everybody was nervous and defensive. Afterward, there was panic and a doubling-down of spin the rest of the day. There are great video clips in the Videos Forum right now.
