Rand Paul Opposition to Previous Disaster Relief Resurfaces as He Seeks Aid for Kentucky

Critics slammed Kentucky Senator Rand Paul for requesting federal aid to help his state recover from devastating tornadoes after he previously voted against relief when other states were struck by natural disasters.

Tornadoes swept across several midwestern and southern states Friday night and Saturday morning, leaving a trail of devastation in their paths.

More than 70 people across Kentucky—one of the hardest hit states—were feared to be killed during the storm. Videos and photos of towns like Mayfield show the extent of the catastrophic damage.

In the aftermath of the storm, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear requested federal assistance to help the state recover from the tornadoes. Paul wrote a letter to President Joe Biden echoing the need for federal relief.

I think each states senators that requested aid should call attention to Paul’s refusal to vote for aid for others before voting for the aid. This is what government does, it helps those in need. Looking at the pictures of the Devastation, there are our a lot of our fellow countrymen/women that need our help.

I have to admit, I have very similar feelings of Fuck Rand Paul. Having lived in a presidentially declared disaster area and looking for the Red Cross truck and FEMA aid workers at dusk has left a mark on me. The devastation these people have been subjected to is beyond words.

I do hope that each Senator takes a big shit on Rand Paul before doing the right thing.

With long floor speeches detailing Rand's (and perhaps Mitch's) hypocrisy and selfishness so the voters back home can plainly see what a slimeball he is.

In reality they're gonna need a lot of help.

The hypocrisy of this man, knows no bounds.

I feel sorry for the people of Kentucky, they have Rand and Mitch, two of the most self centered Senators of all time.

My guess is some of Paul's big shot donors have suffered damage and they're looking for some government money. The same donors who are against giving any sort of federal relief, yet have no problem getting theirs when they need it. Same people that talk a good game about wanting government to stay out of their lives.
