The nagging questions in the back...

..of my mind.

Polls say 60% of Republicans think the 2020 election was rigged and stolen from Trump; 10% of Republicans believe violence would be justified in 'taking back the country'.

What percentage of the 60% really think the election was rigged and what percentage of the 10% are really mentally prepared to do, whatever the hell it is they think they can do, through violence?

The base is fueled only by the propaganda machines...it is what they want to believe and many won't admit any doubt, to a pollster or reporter. I just find it hard to believe the wing nut types that show up at wing nut rallies, comprise 60% of the Republicans.

So far as the 10% who want to start a war? I first of all, can't comprehend who they think they can engage in a war. What they gonna' do? Simply "Declare War on The United States?" And just who is "they" and how they gonna' organize? I can see rogue, surprise attacks on a state capital or even an attempted attack (again) on D.C. but with the amount of intelligence that would be available and a heightened sense of urgency on the part of security forces, I just don't see it happening. And if it was to happen, all the spineless politicians will disappear into their bunkers somewhere.

And think about some husband/dad/wife/mother who's enduring the day to day challenges of just keeping the bills paid, packing up his or her weapons one morning, saying "well, I'm going to D.C. and save the country." How insane is that thought?

I fully accept the existence of way too many, deranged people in the country who will do crazy shit and really want the Trump party to take control. I just don't see it happening unless the GOP politicians succeed in taking full control of elections so they can just declare foul and name their candidate winner.
