It's well written and gives context to the 70's. She has definitely lived an interesting life.

were apparently in the hood that I never saw. I didn't really keep my eyes open for them (which I think is why they liked living in NYC - most of us were too preoccupied to notice them), but she kind of stood out. She looked exactly like you imagined she would. I never went up to any of them or bothered them.

The only time I really did was when I was talking to Mark Wahlberg because he had an adorable German Shepard puppy and I was asking him all kinds of questions about it like he was just an average person (he was very nice to me) and for some reason I just didn't recognize him.

He had a baseball hat on and he was shorter than I imagined. Also, I was obsessed with his puppy, so I wasn't paying that much attention to him. It only hit me later that he kind of looked like Mark Wahlberg and then I looked him up and found out he had just gotten a new GS puppy that his girlfriend at the time gave him (which he said) and that it was from LA. I can be a little slow sometimes.

I'm not a celebrity hunter in general. For all my life living in NYC though you'd think I'd have seen more since I bop around so many parts of Manhattan most of my life! 😄
Walked past David Johansen in Soho one time.

If my favorite band members are in town I'll keep an eye out.

I've been a fan of hers since '74.

Being a NYC'r myself I've seen her through the decades.
Great shows.

Congratulations, Patti Smith! 💖
And Happy Birthday! 🎂

mr pete was in school at UAB
Brother's Auditorium, Birmingham, AL 1980
She was amazing. Swept the floor of the stage afterwards in silence.
What a performance in an amazing venue.

Saw the Ramones there too. WOW
