Can we sue Majorie Greene

That’s probably not going to work out.

What we can do, though, is publicize her lies and identify them as lies. We should do that every time she opens her lying mouth.

She is silenced on Twitter now, at least.

Does that even work on anyone under 80 yrs old?

First of all, it's political speech, which is protected under the First Amendment even if it's bullshit. Second, being called a Communist doesn't fall into one of the four categories of defamation per se (commission of a crime; having a "loathsome disease"; unchastity, or professional misconduct) and therefore requires proof of actual damages. Third, group libel claims also require proof of individual damages. So if Empty Green says all Democrats are Communists, and I am a Democrat, has she defamed me, personally? Nope - just apart from the fact that it's so 1950s to call people Communists, which barely even exist any more. Leaving First Amendment issues aside, I have not been personally harmed such that I could go into court and prove compensable financial or reputational injury.

Perhaps our democratic speaker show what a Democrat speaker does, by announcing to her I am a Democrat Speaker of the House and if this was communist society, you would not have any rights. Do you believe I am a communist Democrat?


Dumb Greene would probably say she doesn't have any rights.... if she did, then should not be able to vote accordingly to HER BELIEFS! Lol

Now we have threads like this that want to stifle free speech, just as an FYI free political speech in no way has to be true.

I am not a communist, I am a Democrat. What Greene had done is constantly lie about truths and free speech does not protect you against lying.


Big DIFFERENCE!

Political speech is and should be protected, you being offended isn't a factor as offensive speech is also protected. If we go your route everyone who has referred to republicans as nazis would be open to lawsuits.

Winning, and sometimes simply not being laughed out of court, are quite another matter.
