I have found people like this, who misuse Holocaust comparisons, often have no idea at the truth of the horrors of the Holocaust or its magnitude. IMO, many of these people are also anti-Semites on some level; they have no use for Jews (except when attacking the "other" side), except in using our history to paint themselves as victims and, at the same time, using our history to deny us our humanity.
