Fox News has a Jan. 6 problem: Sean Hannity's text messages make clear his complicity

(Salon) Tomorrow is the first anniversary of the Capitol insurrection and attempted coup of the U.S. government by former president Donald Trump. There was a time not long ago when everything about that sentence would have made us laugh at the sheer absurdity of it. Nobody's laughing now.

Trump was apparently persuaded by his advisers to cancel his scheduled press conference for Jan. 6 after seeing that he would not get live coverage on all the networks to spread the Big Lie and excuse the violent mob that stormed the capitol a year ago vowing to hang Vice President Mike Pence. He promised to deliver that message to his loyal followers at a rally next weekend instead, drawing a huge sigh of relief from most Republican officials in Washington who just want to keep a low profile and put the unpleasantness behind them.

Unfortunately for them, however, it's not going away.

Trump will be talking about this for the rest of his life and the January 6th committee is revving up for several months of public hearings. Even some MAGA Republicans on Capitol Hill are determined to try to muddy the waters by dusting off their Benghazi playbook and holding their own "investigation" into why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was derelict in her duties by allowing hundreds of rabid Trump-voting fanatics to breach the Capitol that day.

On Tuesday, committee chairs, Reps. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and Liz Cheney R-Wy., released a letter they sent to Fox News host Sean Hannity in which they revealed that they had many text messages from him to high-level members of the White House staff in the run-up to January 6th. They ostensibly want Hannity to cooperate with the committee, but I doubt that there is any expectation that he will. This seemed more likely to be a notice to anyone who ever texted people in the White House during this period that the committee probably has them and intends to make them public. And it will almost certainly cause more dissension in Trumpworld. Meadows is already on thin ice. Now Hannity's backchannel "concerns", as Thompson and Cheney put it, about what Trump and his cronies were up to before and after January 6th leave him at odds with the president, who very likely had no idea that Hannity was pressing his staff to stop him from doing what he did. ..............(more)

3. I might be wrong but I am convinced that Hannity works for and is somehow paid by Putin/Russia

And I think Fox News is a conduit for Russia disinformation to cause social disruption in America.
Hannity knew that TFG and company were going to try to violently overturn America's Constitutional
democracy and stop the peaceful transfer of Presidential power.

Fox News is a very convenient propaganda organ for Putin, who knows the government can’t really shut it down.

Its selective coverage of news, and what it decides to focus on, are huge tells. Again, the ignorance of most of the general population will be everybody’s downfall. I’m just glad nobody in my family watches that dangerous garbage.

6. Ivanka Trump and Wendi Deng* in Croatia in late summer 2016

* The former Mrs. Rupert Murdoch and then the current girlfriend of one Vlad Putin. Croatia and Bulgaria
were used by Russia as cut outs for their loading up Facebook with anti Hillary lies in 2016 and this is right
before the Steele Dossier had Michael Cohen (and maybe Ivanka & Jared) meeting with Russian agents in
Prague to work on the rat fucking of our elections in 2016. We don't know if Cohen was in Prague in 2016
but we do know that his cell phone was there ... they have records of it "pinging" off of cell phone towers
there.

I have heard 2nd hand (don't know if it is true or not) that Russia used Rush Limbaugh to spread right wing
hate and lies too.

…that the rise of ignorant, radical people into important positions in government parallel that of the rise of Fox News and far-right talk radio. It’s now bearing fruit.

Khruschev (sp) was right — Russia won’t have to fire a shot. Enemies within will do just as well.

... and were republicans but since Reagan got rid of the fairness doctrine and the rise of 24/7 info-tainment cable
news channels many of which are just right wing/Russian lie outlets the republican politicians are no longer
hindered by being honest and we now have millions of brain dead assholes who don't know they are being lied too.

Sean Hannity is an example of the kind of cancer that has been growing on America's body.

Too right, and it wouldn't be so bad it he had to do it quietly in a prison cell. That would certainly muffle the insanity a bit, and it's the only way the country will ever get any peace.

with the press, in a good year! His second bit of damage, after "fake news", was removing the boundary between staff and press. That's ultimately why his "press secretaries" were fools; anyone with half a brain knew that job wasn't needed, when all of his staff was in bed with faux, already.

Either this revelation is what finally, somehow, banishes them from access in this country on all platforms

OR

Some superhackers manage to destroy their apparatus somehow such that it destroys the whole network to irreparable status.

Or

Any other method by which that cesspool is obliterated, nonexistent.

is trying to show TFG how 2-faced his supporters actually are. I'm sure he can't feel too good hearing that a lot of his "supporters" at fox and his family were begging him to call off his supporters.

I guess TFG is going to have to decide whether he trusts the mildly deranged people in his family and fox news hosts who want to hide or ignore the events of 1/6 or the truly out of their f-ing mind folks like Bannon and Stone who are all in for revolution.
