While I do not like high level nepotism in government or corporations RFK was fairly qualified.

So JFK doing this in that time period made some sense even if it helped spur on nepotism laws in many places.

Have they received a waiver yet?

This is interesting too:

https://www.police1.com/chiefs-sheriffs/articles/nyc-mayors-brother-appointed-nypd-deputy-commissioner-JlJCxRXWxHUOtlR5/

"Bernard Adams was assigned to the office of new Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell, sources said. That post is believed to be temporary. Sources expect Bernard Adams to be transferred elsewhere once other high-level personnel moves are finalized."

So bingo (this one pays $240,000 a year and doesn't touch his NYC retirement pension, sweet) even more ahead.

"And while the jump to Deputy Commissioner, a civilian position, is not without precedent, observers at One Police Plaza could not recall any mayor in recent memory having a relative so high up in the Police Department."

Especially the VCU parking director...Ugly.

is near the top of the list. And I don't think you can deny that several of these posts are subtle forms of bashing and some are blatant at it and bordering on hinting at "he should know his place."

It's kind of disgusting that so many aren't waiting to see the results of his policies/appointments.

The TOS defines it as:

Do not post disrespectful nicknames, insults, or highly inflammatory attacks against any Democratic public figures. Do not post anything that could be construed as bashing, trashing, undermining, or depressing turnout for any Democratic general election candidate, and do not compare any Democratic general election candidate unfavorably to their general election opponent(s).

None of those conditions apply to my post, and I'm not aware of any others that do.

No public servant shall use or attempt to use his or her position as a public servant to obtain any financial gain, contract, license, privilege or other private or personal advantage, direct or indirect, for the public servant or any person or firm associated with the public servant.

A person or firm "associated" with a public servant includes a spouse, domestic partner, child, parent or sibling; a person with whom the public servant has a business or other financial relationship; and each firm in which the public servant has a present or potential interest.

Just because they were great, doesn't make it any less true.

JFK appointing his brother, RFK to Attorney General. Teddy Kennedy, JFK's brother, running for Kennedy's senate seat in 1962 when he turned 30. RFK carpetbagging New York to run for senator solely to build a foundation for a presidential run in 1968. Not great examples.

That would include his brother. Also was this job advertised? If so someone could sue (maybe but it hurts with other jobs so not likely) if they had a better resume and were interviewed.

That other guy that was fired and under investigation 7 years ago that Adams hired for a huge position is even worse.
