Attorney General releases videos of Jason Jones, man who died after being tased by police

Catskill, NY — New York Attorney General Letitia James has released video from the Catskill Police Department as part of an investigation into the death of Jason Jones.

The Attorney General’s Office said Jason Jones died on Dec. 15, 2021 after an encounter with police on Oct. 30.

2 videos, I'm still watching but at the moment I'm very much thinking murder. The videos are very hard to watch.

I'm curious what charges this officer will face. Surely they're trained not to use a taser on a subject who is doused in a flammable liquid unless deadly force is authorized.

I don't think that the officer who used the taser will face murder charges because they'll never prove intent but I do think he will face some sort of negligent homicide charge if the death can be attributed to the fire caused by the taser.

There was no audio, but that guy looked like he needed some help. They didn't need to tase him, and clearly they shouldn't have tased him after he put hand sanitizer all over his head and back. Broke my heart when it seemed he needed a hug desperately.
