Just a thought ...

If Republicans had spent as much time over the past four-plus years actually solving the nation's problems as they have covering Donald's ass, making excuses for the corruption in their party, and 'walking back' their own dumb-ass remarks, there wouldn't be that many problems left to deal with.

Just sayin' is all.

Nothing opens wallets like a campaign to re-elect a politician who has actually delivered something of value to his/her own constituents.

But don't tell that to a Republican - they're still relying on "I really never meant to say that" as a sure-fire fundraiser.

14. Tax cuts for the filthy rich

Deregulation of the filthy rich's favorite wealth extraction tools - corporations and banks.

More taxes on the poor.

Opening up businesses and schools during a deadly pandemic so the filthy rich can make money off the sick and dying.

Corruption throughout the federal government to prevent oversight by regulatory agencies.

Putting in religiously insane and sexually abusive judges who are easily manipulated and stupid.

Nothing.....preventing legislative progress on massively disastrous problems that will eventually needlessly kill millions of people

The filthy rich get a lot for their money including destroying a planet's major life form. That's what they see as "good value". You have got to admire their constant, enormous stupidity and obliviousness.

15. Not sure exactly what SOP was referring to but I suspect the answer lies in a verse from a song.

Maestro...if you please.....key of E, I think.......me, me, me............No I'm not going to sing it. That was just to get your attention.

Specifically, a 1956 Broadway musical comedy (and 1959 movie) which still speaks to our contemporary questions. In a chorus of one of the songs warning people not to question their leaders while cynically mocking the many overfunded and unfathomable plans within the US military, the line is "What's good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA". It humorously previews the sentiment underlying the urgent warning of Eisenhower's MIC speech delivered in 1961 to a largely deaf nation. The late 50's were a time when the participants in WW2 were not yet uniformly bronzed and processed into immortal herohood. The wacky humor performed in this musical farce was generally appreciated by a wide audience. But that was a time when newspapers ruled. Before they were monopolistically abandoned or repurposed, their platforms requisitioned for propaganda. The comics were allowed to be silly and purely entertainment. So they were, generally, except for the occasional foray into political humor as was this theatrical edition of "Li'l Abner".

We're much more sophisticated these days. "Dogpatch" and "Sadie Hawkins Days" are largely forgotten. Their message, "if we don't stop General Bullworth, he'll ruin the USA", more haunting than humorous.

17. I suspect the General Bullmoose line stems from this apocryphal story:

"In 1953 President Eisenhower nominated Charles Wilson, the President of General Motors, to be his Secretary of Defense. He retained a huge stock position in GM and during his confirmation hearings was asked if he could make a decision that was bad for GM. His response is still remembered forever as the classic example of business arrogance – 'What’s good for GM is good for America.'”

No unions, no education (except for them), high income inequality, racial inequality/injustice, low taxes on zillionaires--those things suit the masters just fine.

after Pinocet's coup. It's what's in store for us.

Another thing, the RNC is paying for Trump's legal issues, but who is funneling the money into the RNC? I see this morning that Trump's lawyers have filed a suit demanding that Letisha James recuse herself from her suit against Trump. Another delay tactic. Is there a limit to these frivolous law suits, or can they just do this forever?
