The CNN headline "...giving Biden a chance to nominate a justice..." is bullshit. It isn't a chance. It is an opportunity and a done deal. And it will be quick.
We have the majority (even with Manchin and Sinema behaving poorly) and Biden certainly already knows who he will nominate from the top of his list. In my opinion, it will be a person of color and most likely a woman.

To have a woman of color on the bench will put the Conservative men on notice. Ole Clarence Thomas will not like having a Liberal African-American woman law scholar near him. Perhaps another retirement?

(66,487 posts)Your scenario seems very likely to me. Toxic masculinity is not restricted to white men only. And as his confirmation process proved, Thomas's masculinity is as toxic as it gets.
