A long email from Nina Turner about her campaign:

Hello!

When we ask ourselves what this campaign is about, the answer is very simple.

We want a health care system that is not commodified, and where folks don’t die because they’ve got to ration out their insulin. That’s it and that’s all.

We need to have some truth and reconciliation about the ravages of racism in the United States of America. That’s it and that’s all.

We want clean water, clean air, and clean food. We must take care of Mother Earth right now. That’s it and that’s all.

We need our young people to be able to go to college without graduating with crippling amounts of student debt. That's it and that's all.

We want to finally have a justice system that doesn’t gun down Black folks in their homes. We are going to clean up this criminal injustice system. That's it and that's all.

We must understand that there are disparities within the disparities: if you are Black, if you are brown, if you are Indigenous, and if you are poor, this system is rigged — it is rotten to the core. And we’re going to unrig it. That’s it and that’s all.

We are being tested right now for whether or not we’ve got enough courage, enough hope, and enough commitment to do what is necessary in this moment.

I’m running to improve the quality of life for working people in Cleveland and across the country. It’s not enough to simply acknowledge their struggles – it’s time we also do something about it.

Every donation made today will help us win this race and build a Congress that works for everyday people. Can I count on you to chip in?

Please make a contribution to our campaign today. Each and every donation, no matter how large or small, is an important statement of support for our 100% people-powered campaign.

We’ve got the energy, we’ve got the heart, and most importantly — we’ve got you. Now let’s go do this thing!

With these hands,

Nina Turner

And a bowl of s**t. The good people of that party aren't likely to forget that.

Not all of us are as stupid as you seem to think, Turner. Your campaigns are ugly; your flame-throwing against other DEMS does nothing but ensure the "needs" you outline are NEVER addressed, and you deserve exactly ZERO platform

Ms. Turner can count on me to treat her the same way she treated my favorite Democrats.

But now I’m understanding why that other shitty thread was posted.

People who compare voting for the Democratic candidate for President to eating a bowl of shit are excused from participation in politics....

I can't unsee/unhear what I've seen/heard from her as recently as last year. Even some Bernie supporters I know were horrified by some of her interviews and appearances. If she's serious about changing our justice system and ending police brutality, there are other ways to join the fight other than Congress (especially since Congress is mostly dysfunctional due to rethug obstruction). She could take Stacey Abram's approach of organizing from the outside, and then maybe, if she is consistent and effective, the voters of her district will give her a second look in 4 to 6 years.

16. It's easy to pontificate to get money and applause. It's hard to legislate.

Radical types, no matter how good their message is, are rarely able to walk the walk.
Any good engineer, scientist - or teacher - can tell you there's a lot of great ideas out there that go unrealized because the actual execution of all those words and initial plans is never completed. It's hard to do good. Going from step A to step D or Z involves a lot more than magical thinking and rhetoric.

It's also hard for a lot of people to understand they aren't the greatest thing since before sliced bread.
Only Betty White was.
