NEW YORK A woman who called it ridiculous that New York City streets were closed during fallen New York Police Department Officer Jason Riveras funeral has been fired by a theater and film production company after her tirade went viral.

(102,357 posts)When police abuse their authority I call them out. When they are murdered trying to intercede in deadly domestic violence, I show them the respect they deserve. Too bad some have no compassion nor appreciation for others' loss.

Still am not sure of your meaning.

Talk about crossing over to the other side, just because you disagree with someone!!!
Who else do you think should be put in jail, because you don't like what they said???

(33,615 posts)in private, as gallows humor. But to make it public is sheer stupidity.
To me there is a big difference between saying something off color in private or in public.

I think people have lost it, but I know I'm in the minority on this score. Slacktivism. It's like doing something!
But, you know, not.

(13,499 posts)need to learn not to put every single thought on social media.
Look, I'm sure people were annoyed about street closures. This is NYC, after all.
But the reality is that most people in NYC were shocked by the deaths of Officers Rivera and Mora. They entered into a domestic dispute that should have been an easy one to handle. Warning and out.
It's indicative of the rise of perceived violence in NYC. And it puts into view that while cops aren't perfect, they DO put their lives on the line in their jobs.
If you don't like something, rant to a friend or a spouse or a parent. Don't put it online. We all have selfish moments. But you DO NOT NEED TO MAKE A VIDEO OF YOURSELF COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FUNERAL OF FALLEN POLICE OFFICERS.
