Jim Lamon, a Senate candidate in Arizona recently said something like this. As a official elector, he was not, I signed the official document, it was not, just in case the official electors votes were over turned.
All the people involved in the conspiracy to over throw our election are some of the dumbest, foolish people in our country.
They are going down.

(7,839 posts)law you say u were ignorant of
.say like signing a fraudulent electoral document knowing it was fraudulent
thats ignorant to even think ignorance is a defence.
Ask your real lawyer if that will fly in a real court before firing up the Twitter Machine for free armchair legal advice and how that would turn out in Twitter Supreme Court.
Maybe go to the QAnon Twitter page, Fantasy Legal section?

(42,700 posts)And that's one reason that I expect DOJ to do a thorough examination and to prepare to rebut any and all defenses before seeking to prosecute these clowns.

(50,270 posts)got a chance. The people in the weasel clause states might be toast, too. If they'd created this thing, passed it amongst themselves and their fellow cult members and nothing more, it would be one thing. But the document was sent to Congress and the National Archives with the apparent intent to be considered bona fide electors. The plot, as it's being revealed, is that Pence would have 2 sets of electors to choose from and he was supposed to pick the Slobfather's pile.

This will happen before the ink on the indictments dries.
Cowards arent going to fight the real courts with paper tiger QAnon evidence.

(21,334 posts)We don't know if DOJ is going to even investigate this. I heard Joyce Vance say yesterday (she has no inside information) that in her opinion DOJ is just investigating the criminal referral that the Michigan AG submitted.
The idea is to get one of these fake electors to flip on higher up people. I heard a defense that was used is that a lawyer told one of the fake electors that what he was doing was legal, now we have a higher up lawyer involved. To get anywhere, however, someone has to investigate from law enforcement.

(7,839 posts)the DOJ is NOT wrapping up the ribbons on a coordinated cross state lines attempt to destroy democracy by fake legal means, all overseen tbh the pResidents personal lawyer.
The fantasy is indictments will not be happening, the truth is that takes time
which is apparently in short supply ever since arrival of social media.

(21,334 posts)I heard Joyce Vance say on MSNBC to not read too much into Lisa Monaco's statement about investigating the fake electors. She said in her opinion DOJ was investigating the Michigan criminal referral. If you have news that DOJ is acting on the Michigan referral please provide a link. Also, if DOJ is acting is it also investigating the 6 other states. It would be great news if this is happening.

(21,334 posts)Weve received those referrals, Monaco said in the exclusive interview. Our prosecutors are looking at those and I cant say anything more on ongoing investigations.
She did not elaborate further.
As I said, DOJ is investigating the criminal referrals, when it decides to act on them then it will be news.

(86,597 posts)That there is probably already a Grand Jury assembled and investigating this aspect of the coup. Grand Juries are secret and not to be announced until they adjourn, normally. So, that DoJ even said anything is what I take as a sign that they want to try and keep us calm and a little more patient.
It is worth remembering that the AG stated in his confirmation hearing that bring the coup participants and conspirators to justice was his first priority, I don't think he has any intent to back down or skimp on anything. It's just that we are back to a DoJ that isn't part of a wannabe gameshow empire on steroids careening toward a full on brutal dictatorship. We aren't going to hear of every step they take, as it should be, and I expect that what we demand of the DoJ regarding the coup is being done in the face of reconstructing a Dept of the government that was cast into disarray for four years.
The waiting is the hardest part. Yes, we need to be vocal to provide notification that we are waiting, but we also need to remember that the process isn't a rush job. This is the biggest crime in our history and it will be years before it's completely adjudicated.
