(CNN)The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating a Listeria outbreak linked to Dole packaged salads that has resulted in two deaths.

The outbreak has also sickened 17 people and resulted in 13 hospitalizations across 13 states.
The recalls began at the end of December and are for products with "Best if used by" dates from November 30, 2021, through January 9, 2022.

The CDC also notes these products have codes in the upper right-hand of the package that will begin with the letter B, N, W or Y.

While the recalled products are all produced by Dole, they are sold under the following brands: Ahold, Dole, HEB, Kroger, Lidl, Little Salad Bar, Marketside, Naturally Better, Nature's Promise, President's Choice and Simply Nature.

And the CDC wouldn't let me share it. Here's the map link for anyone curious...

The Cable Noise (24/7 Drama, Infotainment TV designed to fill airtime between the ads for drugs we never knew we needed) Network so that explains a lot of what they do.

I got a warning email from them regarding this; I went to check my receipt and saw that I didn't purchase any Dole brand packaged salads, so I assumed I had received the email in error, or perhaps it was just sent to everyone that had purchased packaged salads recently in case they happened to buy one of the Dole products. I ignored the warning.

Now, reading this article, I realized that I had purchased one of these contaminated products -- but it was under the Kroger brand.

Thanks for nothing, Instacart.

It’s not a guarantee but there seem to be more recalls on bagged lettuce than whole head.

Yet somehow they do taste garden fresh, and I have yet to see any recall.
