And she was arguing that Unions are no good. Her generation is so brainwashed that Im at the point Ive told her good luck with that someday youll find out what good unions are for.
What happened to that generation she is 40 years old?

However, just the other day, I agreed with GMcG, that-that's a stunning ca(t)pture by you, samplegirl.
Now I'm sure it's just my perspective, but it seems to be (almost, just about, nearly) inline with that mirror in the background, yet you do not appear in the mirror. How you do that?
Maybe your camera has such a fast shutter speed that your reflection (in the mirror) simply did not have time to appear in that image, right?

(13,904 posts)both sides of the table (labor and mgmt) I believe if the institution treats you well and bargains in good faith you don't need a union. Then again in my experience Mgmt wants to get the most for the least. Us vs them mentality. I got mine so F.U.
The last place I worked treated their employees VERY well so there was no need for a Union. Granted they wanted their "pound of salt" from it's employees but it was fair.
I've worked for institutions that treated their employees little more than slaves. That place needed and got a union.. Mgmt lied and cheated left right and center to get what they "needed".. When I was mgmt I was privy to some nasty shit from their "corporate" play book on unions... uff ymmv

(17,539 posts)I have a 40ish daughter who is a standard bearing liberal who realizes what the unions gave to America.
I can not understand why people believe that it is well and good for a CEO to determine the rules of employment, but it is Socialism for workers to present a unified front. If not for unions, we may well be working 10 hours a day, six days a week, 52 weeks a year, in dangerous conditions while buying our food in company stores and living in company owned hovels. If the Republicans have their way, we may be heading there again.
"St. Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store."
