Republican lawmakers in Wisconsin have introduced several bills aimed at barring health care providers from withholding unproven treatments for Covid-19 such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

passes away populism will wane and some in the base will go back to voting Democratic.

a doctor to provide Ivermectin? You can buy it at the store and certainly get it off the Internets.

Let’s take an extreme case:

Someone’s in the hospital and so sick they can’t speak for themselves. A quick look at their FB page shows a STRONG belief in quackery…particularly a belief in bleach injections straight into the vein.

A spouse shows up with one of those medical directives (I forget the name of it) that gives the spouse the right to make medical decisions for the person.

The spouse DEMANDS that the doctors inject bleach, despite the fact the doctors know this will immediately kill the patient.

To complicate things, the patient is 75 yrs old and a multimillionaire. The spouse is 28. They were married a year or so ago.

Do they intend to indemnify the doctors against bad outcomes? And, if they do, what's to keep the doctors from injecting a shitload of ivermectin to rid themselves of this pain-in-the-ass patient and their (likely) pain-in-the-ass family?

Also, can we look forward to laws forcing pilots to land in below-legal-minimums weather because "We really need to get there. Don't worry. God will keep us safe.", or laws forcing schools to hire convicted child molesters because, "He's born again."
