On pregnancy from rape being God's intention:

There is a theology in Christian circles, derived from an extreme type of Calvinism, that states that everything that happens is predestined by God. This theology takes the notion that God is omniscient to its logical conclusion--that God knows everything that will happen, and since God has the power to stop things from happening, when God lets it happen anyway, then it has to be God's will. If Obama is elected, then its God's will. If a woman is raped, then while God didnt cause it, it still has to be God's will, since God didnt stop it. If a woman is impregnated by her rapist, that life was put there according to God's will, so who are we to argue? That is the thinking behind this garbage being spewed from the likes of Mourdock.

9-11 wasnt God's fault in their mind, but it was intended by God for some reason, in their way of thinking. Thus, you hear the Pat Robertsons of the world declaring those attacks as Gods judgement on America...same with Katrina and other natural disasters.

This makes me wonder why some of these folk even make an exception for abortion to preserve the life of the mother. On the other hand, it makes me wonder why they would oppose abortion, since if a woman actually has one it is something that was preordained, except for the notion, again, that if God put "life" in a woman's womb, then it is not that woman's right to abort it...regardless of the circumstances.

But, you see, while many, if not most Republicans actually agree with Mourdock, they know that most people believe that humans are born with free will, and that life is not predestined...but, that, indeed we all have actual choices that determine many of our circumstances. So, when someone like Mourdock states the opinions that they truly hold, they have to distance themselves from him, even though, deep down, they agree with him.

Make no mistake...if Romney is elected, a woman's right to control her own body will be taken away.
