An open letter to my governor, Glenn Youngkin.

Dear Governor Youngkin,
I've been a public school teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia for over 40 years. In my first year as a teacher in one of America's richest counties, I received a salary of about $7,000. (To provide you with a frame of reference, that's about how much you banked every day while accumulating a half a billion dollars as a hedge fund manager. Clearly, you're a man of the people.)
However, that has nothing to do with my missive.
You see, sir, recently I assigned book reports to my fourth graders - a fairly standard exercise ... at least so I thought.
That was until one of my students, a young African-American boy, submitted his report based upon a biography of Jackie Robinson. I'm sure you can imagine my distress, as an old white male, upon being forcibly reminded of the fact that, due to his race, Mr. Robinson was denied an opportunity to play in the major leagues for years; and that once he was given that chance, he was subjected to constant discrimination and the most vile forms of harassment.
Frankly sir, this information triggered me into an emotional spiral. Critical Race Theory at its most virulent!
So here is my question. Based upon your recent Executive Orders, should I simply give my student a lower grade, or should I sue him for his lunch money and any future earnings?
