2 democrat candidates for PA' AG position say they would investigate Corbett (re: Sandusky)

The governor’s jovial declaration also suggests he’s not concerned that his work as attorney general will be called into question. While attorney general, Corbett initiated an investigation into alleged child molestation by former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

But because the inquiry took three years and no charges were filed until after Corbett was elected governor, two Democrats seeking to become Pennsylvania’s top cop — former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Murphy and former assistant Philadelphia District Attorney Dan McCaffery — say they would investigate whether Corbett, a Republican, dragged his feet for political reasons.

"I’m not going to comment on the comments of people who have no idea what went on in that investigation and would have no idea," Corbett said after his Farm Show address. "I’m not going to continue the politicization of the Sandusky case, as these people are doing."

I've always said that in 2012 I would go back to PA to volunteer for campaigning and that I would probably not work on any Obama campaign. I would love to get a democrat elected for PA Attorney General because someone has to investigate why Corbett sat on a pedophilia case for 3 years AND even took campaign money from the pedophile's charity.

1. The Patriot-News has been covering this. Corbett clearly helped hide it.

He's a major prick, but his record can't be hidden. Idiots will still vote for him because of the (R) by his name, but he's perhaps the most destructive politician in the state's history. I swear, I'll give him a full moon with the truck nuts if I ever see him on the streets of Harrisburg - which is pretty much a zero probability. But I'd do it.

2. But he's not up for re-election but the AG position is

They always had the other statewide government positions the opposite year as the governor election.

So with Bob Casey on the ballot (who probably is a safe win) and Obama, you'll get good voter turnout and a chance to get an AG in there that will investigate Corbett in regards to the Sandusky scandal.

3. I don't put much faith into AGs at any level.

Corbett's got a warm seat in Hell waiting for him.
