Lordy I don't want us to involve ourselves in a war...especially with Russia. However, they can't walk into Ukraine with no consequences. I really hope our generals have a plan.

Western Ukraine probably won't see any ground invasion, on account of the fact it has rougher terrain and a rather high national sentiment that wouldn't take kindly to an invasion.

Still, I worry about even that part of the country. I have family there, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that there could be some air assaults against targets there.

My sis and I maaay have cousins we know nothing about.

(our dad [1st gen] an only child, but his dad may have had other family members still there, etc)

Amongst other aggravating things with covid - life forbid this 😔 happens with a bunch of Ukrainian Americans I believe still are living down in The East Village (NYC) and they come out on the streets waving the Ukrainian flag I wouldn't go down to join them.

I hope your people will ok as much as they can be!

I have a friend who did live in an Embassy for 3, or so years while her dad had become Ambassador. They had a few volatile countries around, and nearby them.

Hope your friend, and the rest will be safe!
