(Yes, actual quote.)
"My client can't take the Fifth Amendment. It'll be all over the papers!" Fischetti thundered, as if having to make the same decision as any other defendant amounts to some kind of unconstitutional coercion.
"He'll want to testify, and I can't have him do that," the lawyer added.
"Can't your client just plead the Fifth like his son did 500 times," wondered the court? (Yes, actual quote.)
"My client is not Eric Trump! My client is Donald Trump," Fischetti literally shouted.

It really is shameful that a major political party in the USA is controlled by, and seems likely to renominate for president, a clown that his own lawyer has to say on the record he can't trust. I can't see why "being all over the papers" is a problem for Trump, though. He's literally lived his whole adult life for that.

"Trump's pathology would guarantee perjury-and that his ignorance, if revealed, could constitute a national security threat. He's a fucking liar."

(10,434 posts)4. I'd like to know who exactly is paying his lawyer
I can't believe anyone would work for him without getting paid up front.
If it's the RNC, why would their donors allow it?
