Ottawa police addressed the protesters in a tweet: “We told you to leave. We gave you time to leave. We were slow and methodical, yet you were assaultive and aggressive with officers and the horses. Based on your behavior, we are responding by including helmets and batons for our safety,”

Police said one protester launched a gas canister and was arrested as they advanced.

back in the late 60s and early 70s, I had hair longer than shoulder length and those "Easy Rider" comments about being a woman or a man were always flying around. I was lucky to be 6' 3" tall and built like the proverbial brick shit house. I grew up on my grandfather's farm, tossing hay bales, pushing around horses and cows, chopping wood....I was a big, strong boy, and that helped keep me out of a lot of trouble. Funny thing is, I've never been in a fight in my life. I could always get the other guy into a conversation, and in the end we'd shake hands and became friends. Some of my best friends in life were guys I almost came to blows with.

Ahhh, reminiscing. Time to go out and shovel some snow. We had some heavy snow squalls from noon til about 20 minutes ago. Winter. If it wasn't for my Norwegian/German blood lines I'd move south again, but my blood is too thick for high heat.
