The husband of arrested convoy ring leader Tamara Lich appeared today at her court hearing (after being flown in from Alberta on someone's private jet BTW) and tried to assert his "1st Amendment" rights.

In Canada, freedom of speech is protected by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as a fundamental freedom - NOT by a single word of the US Constitution.
It looks like somebody has been zombified by propaganda outlets from the US.

(4,555 posts)As mentioned, we are not dealing with highbrow antagonists here. They furthermore seem incapable of understanding that blockading of roads and bridges and, intimidation and harassment of the citizenry is not a provision of freedom of speech and protest.

At least Americans seem to know their amendments but Canadians have no idea what their rights are and are not and that their rights are not absolute. They get their info from Faux News and their racists white supremacist leaders who are as full as bullshit as republicans.
