(2,636 posts)Good government isn't sitting in the back row heckling the speaker.
This whole class, and I use that term very loosely, of representative who do nothing but tweet utter bullshit on our dime is killing our democracy.
Cawthorn built his "staff around comms, not legislation." It's refusing to do the required work while wasting his constituents time and money with fantasy attacks on straw men that don't exist.
Boebert, Marjorie 3Toes, Cruz, it's all such juvenile name calling and rumor mongering. Get the bovine waste out there, project, deflect, smear, and vote no. They've all coarsened the discourse, and poisoned the hearts and minds with thousands of seeds of fear and outrage, a tale told by an idiot, amplified for profit, signifying nothing.
The Republican ChristoFascists want nothing less than the end of the New Deal, the end of Black Civil Rights, the end of Women's Civil Rights, the end of LGBTQ civil rights. The 3 Michiganders running for high state office who openly oppose GriswoldvConnecticut is chilling.

Oprah went on the air nationally in the 1980s, just as non-Christian faith healing and channeling the spirits of the dead and harmonic convergence and alternative medicine and all the rest of the New Age movement had scaled up. By the 1990s, there was a big, respectable, glamorous New Age counterestablishment. Marianne Williamson, one of the new superstar New Age preachers, popularized a channeled book of spiritual revelation, A Course in Miracles: The author, a Columbia University psychology professor who was anonymous until after her death in the 1980s, had claimed that its 1,333 pages were dictated to her by Jesus. Her basic idea was that physical existence is a collective illusionthe dream. Endorsed by Williamson, the book became a gigantic best-seller. Deepak Chopra had been a distinguished endocrinologist before he quit regular medicine in his 30s to become the physician to the gods in the Transcendental Meditation organization and in 1989 hung out his own shingle as wise man, author, lecturer, and marketer of dietary supplements.

(15,286 posts)must run 50 times a day here in the Pittsburgh TV market. By the time they are done bashing each other, neither will be able to win the R senate primary. But if one of them does, Dems are going to have a field day after the May primary.
