Putin laying predicate for moving into non-occupied portions of Ukraine now.

And God knows what else...

MOSCOW (AP) — Putin asks lawmakers for permission to use force outside Russia; could pave the way for broader attack on Ukraine.

I've got a real bad feeling about Kharkiv (Ukraine's second largest city in Eastern Ukraine). Tanks are reported swarming right across the border. Also Mariupol on the Black Sea. Putin could just lay waste to them with reckless abandon.

Kyiv and Odesa are in danger too, although he may go a little easier on them simply due to the ancestral Kyivan Rus history for Kyiv and the Tsarist history for Odesa. Parts of them could be very much in the crosshairs though.

Lviv in Western Ukraine should be safe, at least from ground forces. I still worry slightly about air strikes since it's a strategic staging ground for troops heading out east. And I have family there.

Also, LOL for "Putin asks lawmakers for permission..."

But that's Managed Democracy for you.
