An Alabama man handcuffed and jailed for putting flowers on his fiancees grave said all he wants is to be able to continue the honor the love of his life.
I wish it was a story I was reading, not living, said Winchester Hagans, a student studying education and theology and the son of Evangelist Rick Hagans.
Hagans fiancee, Hannah Ford, 26, was killed in a Jan. 17, 2021 car crash, hours after the newly engaged couple had visited their wedding venue. She died just a mile from her Montgomery home.
Just over one year later, Hagans, 31, was pulled over on a Sunday morning while on his way to preach at Purpose Baptist Church in the Auburn-Opelika area.
During that traffic stop that Hagans learned he had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor criminal littering, a warrant obtained by Fords father, with whom the couple had a strained relationship.

Rather sad story with the mix - which rarely turns out well - of love , religion, and a toxic father

And it's been YEARS and Trump hasn't been arrested.

(16,118 posts)tend to be authoritarian and controlling.
All the people I have ever known (and I've known many) who homeschool their children for religious reasons do so to keep them fully under their control and avoid allowing them to mix with other people.
And yes, a whole lot of right wing evangelicals do act like assholes. They use their religion as a bludgeon.
My opinion is my opinion, you don't have to agree.

I just say, believe what you want to. Just make sure you accord me the same courtesy. (I know, I know, sounds like a quote from Hannibal Lecter).
